Gosforth District Youth Praise Band

Are you a singer or musician aged between 11 and 18? Are you interested in making new friends, having fun, & exploring contemporary styles of music (rock, pop etc.)?

In September this year, a new youth group will be starting in Gosforth. Meeting every Friday evening in term time, in Gosforth Methodist Church, it will be for young people who belong to any church or to none.

The first practice will be on Friday September 15th.

This new venture is being launched with the support of Gosforth Methodist Church & St Mary’s Church, Gosforth.
Its main aim is to enable young people from the village and from the surrounding area to have fun using their musical talents to explore the contemporary Christian music scene.

We are looking for singers & instrumentalists (especially guitarists, keyboard players, drummers, saxophonists etc.) of secondary school age, and we would also welcome enquiries from folk of any age who could offer help of any kind.
There will be no charge for membership, but please note that we cannot provide instruments or instrumental tuition (though we may be able to recommend teachers to those who need them.) No qualifications are necessary. Singers don’t need any experience, or to be able to read music, but it helps if you can sing in tune!.

The band will be run by Keith and Jill Hudson, who are both fully qualified teachers. (Keith teaches at Whitehaven School, and Jill at St. Bees School.) They have also run ‘Mark One’ Youth Gospel Choir for almost 10 years.

Further details can be obtained by phoning Keith or Jill on 019467 21592.
