In the Gospel of Mark, Chapter One, John the Baptist announces that his mission is to 'prepare the way of the Lord'. The organisers and members of the choir see this as our mission too.
We want the people of our area to experience God for themselves; if we can help at all in putting people in touch with Him, then we shall have fulfilled our chief ambition.
Of course, we have other ambitions too - to perform to the best of ability, providing high quality entertainment for churches, charities and anyone else willing to give us a hearing!
We also seek to deepen our knowledge and understanding of what it means to love and worhip God in the modern world.
In September 2006 our new venture, Gosforth District Youth Praise Band, commences. This will be based in the Methodist Church, Gosforth, Cumbria and be aimed at young musicians from the local area.
